Remote Online Notary

What is Remote Online Notarization?

Remote Online Notarization, or RON, allows eligible documents to be notarized online using identity verification, audio-video technology, and electronic signing through a secure platform.

Can you notarize documents for people outside Florida?

A Florida notary may be able to perform Remote Online Notarization for eligible signers in other locations when the notarial act and platform requirements are met. Document acceptance can vary, so confirm with the receiving party before scheduling.

What do I need for Remote Online Notary service?

You typically need a compatible device with camera and microphone, reliable internet, an email address, acceptable identification, and an eligible document that can be completed through the online platform.

Are all documents eligible for RON?

No. Some documents, receiving agencies, lenders, courts, foreign authorities, or transaction parties may not accept remote notarization. Please confirm document eligibility before scheduling.

Is RON secure?

Remote notarization uses secure identity verification and audio-video technology. Lyomar Notary Services also treats client information and documents as confidential.

Documents

Can you notarize real estate documents?

Yes. We provide notary and loan signing support for real estate documents, mortgage closings, refinance packages, buyer and seller documents, and related forms.

Can you notarize wills and powers of attorney?

We can notarize properly prepared wills, powers of attorney, trusts, healthcare directives, and estate planning documents when notarial requirements are met. We do not draft documents or provide legal advice.

Can you notarize affidavits?

Yes. Affidavits usually require a jurat, which means the signer swears or affirms the truthfulness of the statement before signing.

Can you help with apostilles?

Apostille assistance may be available where applicable. Apostille requirements depend on the document type, destination country, and issuing authority.

Do you notarize business documents?

Yes. Business documents may include contracts, corporate forms, authorization letters, affidavits, vendor paperwork, and other properly prepared documents.

Can you complete I-9 employment verification?

I-9 employment verification support may be available when an employer or authorized representative requests assistance. This is separate from a notarial act unless a document also requires notarization.

What documents cannot be notarized?

Documents cannot be notarized if the signer is not present when required, lacks acceptable ID, appears unwilling or unaware, the document has blank required sections, the notarial wording is missing or improper, or the requested act is not permitted. We do not provide legal advice.

Can you certify copies?

Copy certifications may be available only where permitted by Florida notary law. Some vital records and public records must be obtained from the official issuing agency instead.

Identification

What ID is required?

Signers should provide current, acceptable government-issued photo identification, such as a driver license, state ID, passport, or other ID permitted under Florida notary requirements.

Can an expired ID be used?

Expired ID may not be acceptable in many situations. Contact us before scheduling if a signer does not have current identification so options can be reviewed.

Does every signer need to be present?

Yes. Each person whose signature is being notarized must appear before the notary, either in person for mobile service or through an approved remote online notarization process.

Can someone else sign for a client?

A signer generally must sign for themselves unless a specific legally valid representative capacity or signature-by-mark process applies. Please consult an attorney for legal questions.

Can you notarize if the signer is in a hospital or nursing home?

Yes, if the signer is willing, alert, aware of the document, able to communicate, and has acceptable identification. The notary cannot proceed if the signer appears confused, pressured, or unable to participate.
